Discover one of the sixteen best ancient regions of Morocco, the Meknes-Tafilalet region.
The southern region of Morocco offers a diverse landscape, with a spectacular contrast ranging from the fine sands of the desert to the towering mountains of the High Atlas. Its people also vary from region to region, as do their customs, habits, and clothing.
The Ouarzazate area, nestled between the Draa, Dades, and Ziz valleys, is particularly famous for the numerous Hollywood studios located there, as well as for its majestic mountains, a starting point for nature lovers and mountain enthusiasts. It is also home to impressive kasbahs—fortified towns of adobe and straw built using traditional methods—found along the renowned Route of a Thousand Kasbahs.
In the desert area, we find majestic oases (the largest in the area has more than 3,000,000 date palms), as well as emblematic towns such as Rissani, famous for its market where all the tribes in the area are supplied, or Merzouga, where we find the famous red sand, a large set of dunes that reach 150 m in height.
